system administration utilities that are intended for advanced
users working from a command line.
The main menu items are shown in Figure 39 and described in the following list.
Details about many of these utilities and applications are included in other sec-
tions of this manual (for example, the Home Directory item is described in detail
in Chapter 6, Working with Files).

you learn how to add items to your main menu.
The Panel
The Panel is the horizontal row of icons at the bottom of the screen that you can
use to start applications. In Chapter 9 you learn how to add icons to the Panel.
The default icons provided with OpenLinux should serve you well until then.
If you leave your mouse pointer sitting still over an icon, you see a yellow pop-up
hint describing what the icon does.
